Ruth outlined critical first steps which literally worked overnight:

Frustration and a feeling of helplessness had begun to overshadow the great love and joy my wife and I shared with the birth of beautiful twin boys.  Model students in school were now more often terrors at home.  No matter how much we tried and how hard we worked, it seemed that we were gradually losing control daily.

Recognizing that full-time jobs and six years old boys were becoming more than we could handle, prompted us to schedule time with Ruth.  Her major focus was on parenting and not on the boys and she quickly identified several unintentional things we were doing which encouraged bad behavior.  Ruth outlined critical first steps which literally worked over night.  Rewarding the boy’s positive and ignoring much of the negative behavior, staying calm, using goal-directed language and getting on a schedule made all the difference in the world.

Our work with Ruth is not done as there are clearly challenges which remain.  However, there is good reason to trust that, through Ruth, the job of parenting will continue to become a lot easier and our family a lot more of a team.
